Question

Heatmap - % of total doesn't add up?

Good day,

I tried the new Heatmap feature and love it.

I am just wondering, why I have a total of 66k click, but my most clicked element just got 600 (1% of total) clicks. And I just got 25 items with a click-count. Where are the other 60k clicks? Where is my mistake?

Hey @Annaw! Thanks for reaching out! I’m so glad to hear you love the Heatmaps feature.🔥

The reason you aren’t seeing the other clicks might be related to your current search segment in Page Insights. FullStory will aggregate clicks from the users that match your search segment and count the clicks based on all pages that match the same underlying page structure. Something else to keep in mind is FullStory will only show the top 25 clicks for all click types which may come into play in your results here as well.

I see you’ve submitted a ticket with our support team. They’ll be able to take a closer look for you and let you know why you may be seeing these results!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you lindsay. This makes a lot of sense. If the 66k is the aggregated click number is there a way to also see the top 25 clicks based on an aggregated approach?

No problem @Annaw! Great question!

The way Heatmaps works, is they are always using aggregate data based on whatever segment you’ve chosen. The top 25 results you’ll see in a click map, are therefore aggregate results from your chosen segment of users. 😊

If you’re looking for the top 25 clicked elements aggregated from your entire site, I would double check to ensure that your chosen segment is including all intended users. In the meantime, I’ve passed this message onto your FullStory support specialist to ensure we can get to the bottom of what you’re looking for!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any other questions!
